Comments on Paris Writers Workshop

I couldn't believe so many questions would be answered Ð so many problems potentially solved & razor sharp identification of things I'd become too close to see. I personally had one of the most valuable learning experiences of my life.

The WICE/PWW 2006 was excellent in how it was organized & with the daily structure. Drinks available all day. Good spread of programs for all styles and genresÉ I also liked the 2 readings as I got to know different areas of Paris, but at the same time they were relatively close to WICE.

I learnt a great deal and feel energized and invigorated to write. I now know what a good writer strives to achieve. I got lessons and special help that helped me with my memoir.

High quality manuscripts and responses, good teacher, interesting readings, and good energy. Liked the morning workshops and options for free time later in the day.Paris is a great city for a workshop.

Thanks for all your hard work and skill. It was a terrific week. –Jan, Switzerland

The Novel workshop answered all my questions, taught me much more and left me reading literature with a second eye. The overall organization of the workshop was very good, but the writer of my workshop was both encouraging and very inspiring. –Kathryn, UK

It was an absolutely wonderful experience for me, and now I am trying to determine how I can return next year! Thank you for all of your hard work and your dedication to supporting writers. –Rebecca, USA

I wanted to thank you again for giving me the opportunity to teach at the Paris Writers Workshop this summer. I loved my experience in every possible way. I felt very lucky to work with such a good group of students... they were curious and passionate and great fun. We developed a wonderful rapport over the course of the week, which made all of the work feel like pure pleasure. I think it's a very good idea to have the one-on-one consultations Ð I haven't experienced that at a conference before and thought that it brings another level of seriousness and attention to the experience. And I was impressed (as were my students) with the sense of community you establish for the larger group of writers choosing to spend a week with us in Paris. –Ellen Sussman, Short Fiction

Thanks so much for the good time in Paris. You've built up quite an impressive gathering there, and I was very glad to be a part of it. –Liam Rector, Poetry

Another PWW success story!
Natalia Sarkissian (PWW 2006) writes: "Congratulations on your lovely new website. I would love to attend PWW this year, but as a result of last year's short-story workshop with Manette Ansay I was awarded a merit scholarship by Vermont College, where I am currently enrolled! I can safely say it is all thanks to you and your wonderful program that my life has taken a new and unexpected turn."
